Post RAF Coningsby /COAP Nightshoot - 21/10/2017
Landed a spot on last weeks Nightshoot at Coningsby.

Very strong winds thanks to storm "Brian" made things a bit tricky to keep things steady but my apparent memory loss on what settings to shoot at night was more of a problem.

Some nice participation with an A400, P8, C130, 41sqn GR4 and the token CGY Typhoons.  There was also a Chinook and Puma but they remained covered up due to the howling winds.  There was talk that a C17 was also due but given the storm force winds it was sensibly decided not to fly.

Editing took a bit more than I'd have liked as it turned the whole job into more of a rescue mission than a normal post edit.  Happy with a few though but some of the more experienced chaps have some absolute belters.

Biggest schoolboy error of the night?  Leaving a UV filter on........  Only took me 3 nightshoots to realize that little gem......

Always learning.

Thanks for looking as always and (dare I say it) C&C welcomed......

Blimey Tim, if I'd have taken just one of those for my collection I'd be very happy indeed. Lovely set.

Regards,
Dave.

Nicely done. Still going through mine but you've given me some direction. Never heard of taking uv filter off, so clearly I'm still making that mistake, not sure how much difference it will make

Cheers Ken. Was a new one on me with the filter to be fair. Iíd imagine the extra bit of glass would be one more element for the light to flare and reflect off.  I thought I was getting a lot more flaring and blooming than some of the others Iíd seen.  Hopefully Iíll know for sure if I can get on any future ones.....

These look ok to me Tim, bearing in mind the conditions I would be happy with these.

I need to be on a hill soon.
