There are some more pictures on the daily fail. Most are very out of focus so it looks like this was a lucky lucky shot (as if a woodpecker being ridden isnt an everyday thing anyway!!)

ITV interviewed the photographer who was grasping a 70d & 300 2.8 camo.... and as you say matt, lucky shot, it eventually locked on which ain't bad considering how small it was in the frame with all the undergrowth behind.

back in 2010 and on my first walk out with the 7d a merlin flew straight past  with a water vole in it's claws.  I had just taken some shots on manual focus/manual 1/50th sec setting and had no chance to change it... and it was almost full frame and only by reducing it to this size and photoshopping did i get anything out.....nothing on the weasel shot but havn't had the chance since.
